On October 5-7 current year, Tashkent hosted the 1st International Workshop on Medical and Health Tourism, jointly organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Association of Medical Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which was attended by representatives of specialized scientific and practical medical centers, large private medical clinics, sanatoriums and travel companies of the republic, as well as participants as authorized representatives of foreign travel companies and medical institutions from more than 15 countries of near and far abroad.

The main purpose of the event is the development of medical and health tourism in the country, promotion of domestic medical tourism among the population of the republic, familiarization of foreign participants of the conference with the national potential of this aspect, exchange of experience and establishment of further mutually beneficial relations for the benefit of preserving and comprehensively strengthening people's health.

The conference was opened by the Chairman of the Association of Medical Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Shukurov, who emphasized that the purpose of this event, as well as all efforts in this direction, is to bring the quality of medical services and their types to the international level. It was said that to do this, the experience and practice of colleagues from countries such as Turkey, Israel, the Republic of Belarus, Germany, Switzerland, South Korea is periodically studied and adaptively implemented in the republic, taking into account the peculiarities and specifics of our country.

During the conference, the participants were able to get acquainted in detail with the potential of the parties, hold meetings in the format of an open dialogue, exchange views on issues of interest, discuss problems and their solutions, and establish contacts for further cooperation on the basis of bilateral memorandums.

At the end of the main session, B2B meetings were organized for the participants. At the end of the event, all participating institutions were awarded special certificates, one of which was awarded to the State Institution "Republican specialized scientific practical medical center for obstetrics and gynecology".
